DOWA ECO-SYSTEM CO., LTD. (14-1, Sotokanda 4-Chome, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Capital: 1 billion yen; President: YANAI Yasuharu), a subsidiary of DOWA HOLDINGS CO., LTD. (same location; Capital: 36.4 billion yen; President: SEKIGUCHI Akira), and Nippon Light Metal Company, Ltd. (1-13, Shimbashi　1-Chome, Minato-ku, Tokyo; Capital: 30.0 billion yen; President: ASAKUNO Shuichi), a subsidiary of Nippon Light Metal Holdings Company, Ltd. (same location; Capital: 46.5 billion yen; President: ASAKUNO Shuichi), have entered into a strategic partnership agreement for the purpose of joint technology development and business development for metal recycling in the fields of lithium-ion batteries, solar panels, EV motors, and related applications.

 

In recent years, with respect to metal resources such as rare metals used in lithium-ion batteries, solar panels, and EV motors, in addition to supply constraints and soaring prices, rising geopolitical risks have intensified the need to realize a circular society that achieves both stable procurement and reduced environmental impact.

 

Through this partnership, leveraging the strengths of both parties, the companies will create new value that contributes to the realization of a circular society by pursuing joint technology development and business development for metal recycling in the fields of lithium-ion batteries, solar panels, EV motors, and related applications.
