DOWA Expands Tin-Plating Business of Copper Rolled Products in China

DOWA METALTECH CO., LTD. (Headquarters: 14-1 Sotokanda 4-chome, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Capital: 1 billion yen; President: Akira Sugawara; hereinafter DOWA METALTECH), a subsidiary of DOWA HOLDINGS CO., LTD. (Headquarters: same as above; Capital: 36.4 billion yen; President: Masao Yamada), will establish DOWA METALTECH (NANTONG) CO., LTD. (hereinafter New Company) in Nantong City, Jiangsu, China, to expand tin-plating business of copper rolled products in China.

 

Today, automobile manufacturing in China is continuously expanding due to production increases and quality improvement by Chinese automobile manufacturers. In addition, many automobile related manufacturers in Japan and Europe have advanced to China. Therefore, the demand for tin-plating of components such as connectors for automotive electronic devices increases rapidly.

 

DOWA METALTECH has conducted the business at the Export Processing Zone^*1 in Songjiang District, Shanghai City, since 2002. Currently, it continues to operate at nearly full production capacity. In the future, larger demand is expected for the Chinese domestic market, and DOWA METALTECH will establish a new company, its second base in China, in the general district within the Rudong Economic Development Zone in Nantong City, Jiangsu. The New Company will install plating processing lines that enable low insertion force tin-plating^*2 for the first time in China, and cutting slitters. Moving forward, the New Company will harvest new demand for the Chinese domestic market, to expand the tin-plating business. Operation is scheduled to begin in October 2019.

 

DOWA METALTECH will harvest continuously growing demand for automobiles and establish a further strong business foundation.
